Salsoul Orchestra
The Salsoul Orchestra, formed in 1974 in New York, was the house orchestra of the disco label Salsoul Records. The name Salsoul is a combination of 'salsa' and 'soul'. The tracks were primarily written and produced by Vincent Montana Jr., who also conducted the orchestra.
Montana also played vibes and did some arranging for Gamble & Huff's house band, MFSB
Some well-known tracks include 'Salsoul Hustle' (1975), 'Nice 'N' Naasty' (1976), 'Magic Bird of Fire' (1977), and 'Take Some Time Out For Love' (1982).
